Celebrate Easter With Us
The most significant event in the Christian calendar is the resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ from the tomb after His crucifixion. In commemorating this dramatic event the Washington New Church begins with a special service on the Sunday before Easter (March 28th this year) . which includes a family procession with palm branches to mark the day of Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem (Matthew 21, etc.) All are most welcome and palms will be provided at the church for all to participate.
Our Family Service on Easter Sunday is at 11:00 am with joyous hymns and a talk accommodated to all ages. Everyone is invited (but certainly not required) to bring a floral offering in celebration of new life at the resurrection, and these will be presented at the chancel during the opening hymns. We hope you will bring friends and join us for this very popular and uplifting service. Check out other events on the Calendar page
Saturday Breakfast Men's Discussion Group April 17
The Washington New Church Men's Group meets one Saturday each month at 8:30am. To date we have read and discussed - "Have a Little Faith", by Mitch Albom, "Freakonomics", by Steven Levitt and Stephen Dubner and we are now reading "What's So Great About Christianity", by Dinesh D'Souza.
We will meet again at T. J. Elliott's Restaurant in Bowie and try to cover about half the book for the April 17th discussion. Hope to see you there!
