Preparation for Heaven
No, it's not about death and dying, it's about living in a way that fits with heavenly life and so not only prepares us for life after death but confirms heavenly qualities with us in this world.
Check out the summer sermon series about this preparation: - what it takes, how it works, and what it really means to be "saved". Many of these talks are based on parables found in the Gospels, and explain the symbolic meaning of otherwise confusing details in these stories. Go to sermons in the resource tab and come back every week or two through the summer for more.
Atronomy Lecture Series Takes a Break for the Summer
There will be no lectures held for the rest of the summer. Lectures will be back in September so mark your calendars for Wednesday, September 8th @ 7:30 PM. Watch this site for the topic.
All lectures are accompanied by a slide show packed full of current, dazzling images of our universe and are held the first Wednesday of each month (with exceptions) at The Washington New Church, 11914 Chantilly Lane, Mitchellville, MD 20721. For more details contact us
